Baby Boat Shoes

I am generally opposed to baby booties.  I think they've gone the way of bonnets - stuff your grandmother knits for a new baby but no one really uses.  And considering the number of times I've followed Elizabeth around with an errant sock, I figure stuff doesn't stay long on babies' feet anyway.

Well that was before I saw this adorable pattern for baby boat shoe booties.  Even if I'm having a girl, I knew my kid needed a pair of these.  

It turned out to be a not very well written pattern, and I had to do a fair amount of unraveling, but I finally wound up with two little booties that more or less resemble boat shoes.  

I can just see the kid losing one in the grocery store the first time we go out.
